In Episode 104, we discussed the suspension of Atomatrix during the first game of Dust Devil… We were then contacted by the WFTDA & informed that we had provided incorrect information. They have provided the correct information & we have posted it below.
From WFTDA Press Relations Manager Kali Schumitz:
- First, Sarah Hipel is not involved in any way with the WFTDA Compliance Panel, the body that handles grievances for the WFTDA, nor was she a party to the grievance that led to Atomatrix’s suspension.
- In addition, the podcast implies that the entire WFTDA Code of Conduct has not been made public. The document that is posted at http://wftda.com/code-of-
conduct is, in fact, our entire Code of Conduct.
- To give you some more background on the WFTDA Compliance Panel, this is a five-person panel elected by the WFTDA membership consisting of a representative from each game play region and a chair. The panel is charged with conducting impartial reviews of all grievances involving potential breaches of WFTDA bylaws, policies or the Code of Conduct.
- The panel collects statements and information from all parties involved in the grievance. If any panel member has or is considered to have a conflict of interest in a grievance, she is recused from participating in the discussions and investigation regarding that grievance.
We apologize for any confusion we may have caused with our discussion on last week’s show. We have always maintained an awesome relationship with the WFTDA & look forward to continuing that in the future. Thanks to Ms. Schumitz for contacting us & setting the record straight!
