One clarification about Battle for the Coast: Ventura isn’t in the WFTDA, so they can’t be officially ranked or going to ‘Frisco for west regionals. The only WFTDA teams there were Reign Valley (who are awesome) and one of Jet City’s home teams.
@WindyMan
GOOD CATCH!
Thanks for the update! =D
I’m so glad Sam-R-Eye brought up NFL Films, because that’s how I felt about his work from Champs in Chicago. I agree that derby needs this, and if the contract with Blaze Media disallows it, then I hope WFTDA will re-examine that contract.
One of the cool things NFL Films does (according to some bit I watched on tv a thousand years ago) is actually put microphones in the players’ pads to properly capture the sound of the collisions. How cool would it be to someday get those kinds of sounds in derby film?
Of course there were no WFTDA chartered teams at Battle for the Coast, so no sanctioned games took place, and only sanctioned games can be involved in WFTDA ranking.
The only WFTDA associated teams were Sac City, apprentice league, and Carnevil, a Jet City home team. All other teams were banked, pickup or non-WFTDA flat track teams. Reign Valley Vixens are not associated with WFTDA in any way.
Please check WFTDA web site in future.
@Southbay
Oh Southbay, what would we do without you.
@WindyMan
Did Pitchit really say there were TOO MANY photographers? Hmm…as long as there’s room (so far, so good…though World Cup maybe pushed close to the limits at times), I can’t see any problem with there being “too many” people providing free photography services to the derby community.
MERSHED PERDERDERS!!!!
ERMAHGERD almost spit water on my screen.
I thought that Sac City was no longer a WFTDA apprentice team?
