Emerald City Roller Girls was founded by the local Stitch and Bitch knitting group… the whole thing spawned from those needle wielding women!
“[Gotham hasn't] played anybody of value this entire season.” Philly, Charm, Rose, Denver? Does ‘anyone of value’ mean only Oly/Rocky? Who else did you want them to play in the regular season?
Yes, I’d like to see them play the teams that are closest to them in skill level during the regular season. Playing a series of teams that have absolutely NO chance of beating them doesn’t do anything.
I admitted that I was wrong about Rose & Denver, but you cannot put Charm & Philly into the same category.
Come on now, half of the cast doesn’t want to hear any “cry-babies” talk about why they think their team will finish higher? Isn’t all of that discuasion half the fun of making the predictions in the first place?
Anyway, I always think it’s fun to hear what the cast thinks will go down regardless of whether I agree or not. And since I know our team LOVES to be the underdog, it definitely doesn’t make me mad that everyone thinks Gotham is going to take their first bout against us. But, I did want to chime in with a little fun stat to help illustrate why I think Rocky Mountain will take Gotham:)
Everyone keeps mentioning how Rose came the closest to beating Gotham this year which made me think, hmmm…we played Rose earlier in the season let’s go do a little triangulation shall we?
On May 7th we played Rose and beat them by 98 points, less than 2 months later Gotham played Rose and beat them by 68 points. Seems to me that both of our teams are going to have to play one hell of a bout to move forward.
Regardless of the Rose scores, what is really motivating Fight Club this year is that we are in our home town and we want to be the first team in WFTDA history to take it all two years in a row. So let the games begin!
