Episode 11 has arrived and brings with it our very first “in studio” guests!!
This week we’re joined by Nasty Nikki Nightstick & Tre Le Trash from the Jet City Bombers!!
We first discuss the brand new DNN Power Rankings for July, and along with it a quick discussion about “Scrimmages vs Bouts.”
We answer two listener emails, one coming from Anya’s Biggest Fan asking about the term “Girls” as it refers to skaters; and another from an anonymous listener who asks if a spot on a team or on a league is an “indefinite assignment.”
Finally we talk to our friends from Jet City about their quest to make it to the 2010 Western Regional Playoff and their recent bout against the Tucson Saddletramps.
You can download it directly by right clicking on the link below and choosing “Save Link As”, or just click to stream it.

just don’t call us chicks …. ugh.
i will now stop all the pissing and moaning! hazzah!
Can’t wait to see Jet City at Regionals–the way they’re going for it this year reminds me of Denver’s Mile High Club in 2008 where MHC played KCRW, Duke, Madison, Gotham, Carolina in order to make the cut at Regionals, learned a ton from getting trounced by those teams and came together strongly in 2009.
Here’s hoping that happens for Jet City as well. Way to go, guys/girls/fellas/ladies/skaters.
You mention in the podcast that Duke City lost Muffin. Can you expand on that at all? Has she retired? Switched teams? I believe I saw her skate at Battle on the Bank not that long ago. Any info you can share?
@DT
She announced her retirement from derby on her Facebook page earlier this week. It is unclear whether that means merely flat track or if she’ll continue to skate with Team Legit.
Thanks for the quick reply and congrats on passing the 10 podcasts mark!
so we have established that jet is up and coming and about to reach the level of legitamate contender, who would you guys say is next in line of up and comers? i would have to vote silicon valley. after watching them play bellingham they kinda reminded me of jet a year or so ago. thought maybe that could be a topic next week.
KICKBALL?
we hold an annual charity kickball event with the Denver Kickball Coalition, “dolls and balls”.
The first year we beat them, the second year they won by one, this year they stepped it up and killed us 10-2.
Next year, we’re making them put on skates
